The work of Roberto Burle Marx is diverse and goes beyond the landscaping, by which it became world-renowned. His legacy includes murals, urban design, painting, drawing, among others. He reinvented the construction of public spaces, re-signifying rules and objects from outside to the Brazilian reality. Part of this universe has been revisited by the photographer Leonardo Finotti over the last years.

Geometry and pure forms are the connecting link between the two authors. In Finotti's work the rigorous composition of elements, plans, lines and perspectives arranges the image in an extremely precise way. Thus, when confronted with the aerial vision of Burle Marx's work he proceeds to a reiteration of the original precise ordering. A formal organization coming from the fine arts, especially of constructivism, where painting and drawing are thought of as constructions and not as representations.

This project prospects and makes visible the constant transformations that pass the Burle Marx projects. How did it evolve? Which interventions and appropriations have taken shape over the years? If the Finotti's photography not intended to answer these underlying questions, it certainly throws clues about its evolution and temporality.
