Millennial City

Between Guangzhou and Foshan, there is a piece of land witnessing the merging of the two Chinese cities, in which Mutability-the quality for future city model is indicated. This status between the two cities appears only in the very brief moment before their inevitable collision. The regular way of drawing can no longer contain the quality of Mutability. It needs another drawing method and way of viewing it. The fleeting condition is framed as the model of Millennial City by the 2 m × 2 m canvas and turns into a manifesto of itself.

The canvas enable us to superpose layer on layer like the endless loop of demolition and construction on our land. In the meanwhile, this feature indicates that no absolute authority in this land. People can not agree on same opinion anymore therefore no more hero will appear in the future. Instead, a intuitive, irrational consciousness would take its place. Rationality, materialism and teleology build up the prosperity of City but they also bring in the irresistible collapse. Thereby, we irreversibly step into the age of continuous motion and change. This is the feature of the Millennial City-Mutability.
