Sounding Architecture is an installation and performance of architecture and music inform each other in surprising ways, challenging disciplinary notions of tradition and experimentation, expanding the boundaries of both practices, and to offer the public a different experience of musical performance and the utilization of objects.

The exhibition is structured around three thematic sections conceived and curated by Tsang as a whole – "Sounding Architecture", "Performing Architecture" and "Studiolo," expanded project from previous edition of 2015 UABB Shenzhen with Lukas Feireiss, a private room and, a free-standing wall composed of cabinet of curiosity – all three projects to illuminate the interior of the installation.

This project further investigates the artistic production with two major music composers. Since 2007, a decade long collaboration with composer Ken Ueno, explores the sonically activates resonant chamber, effectively turning the building into a music instrument. An ongoing series to explore new possibilities to notate oral traditions with composer Du Yun, part of her initiative, A Revamping Disappearing Folk Arts and Regional Operas Project in China, to develop a new narrative framework with traditional Cantonese opera in Shenzhen.
