Dashengli | Dashengli arcade block is situated in 298, Siming South Road, which is within the city of Xiamen. It is the byproduct from the Urban Renewal Movement by Chinese government. Due to the different spatial typology, ownership, management regulation and occupation mode, the east and west of Dashengli arcade presents two very different urban landscape. Within, the more interesting sight is the informal rooftop settlement on the east side. The 'contesting landscape' presented in this

exhibition is about the spatial negotiating process during the informal settlement period.

Urban Fishing Village | Due to its unique social-spatial characteristics, the typhoon shelter area in Xiamen Harbor has become the core of the urban transformation experiment field and rapidly transformed into a gentrification space in recent years. Subsequently, these consuming landscapes quickly occupied the entire neighborhood. The 'contesting landscape' referred to in this exhibition is the spatial contesting process of the spontaneous consuming landscape and the original

vernacular neighborhood during the transformation period.

This exhibition is to create a friendly place for participants to experience, interact and ref lect.
