"Low-carbon city" is a proposal for the sustainable, energy-saving and effective development of Shenzhen. It inherits and continues the many characteristics of the urban village: a natural growing energy from the bottom up; the inclusion and creativity from both chaos and order; People from different backgrounds have lower threshold and more equal opportunity when they enter the city.

Through the observation of the modern urban village's growth traits, the proposal reduces one-time cost, to give full play to the users' subjective initiative and flexibility, and greatly reduces developer's investment in both time and money.

As an evolutionary space organization that has inherited the genes and souls of the existing urban village, the "low-carbon city" project has been maximized to embrace the recognition of different city cultures, different social classes and different values. The structure holding the "Magic Box" can be alternated by different users and various functions, these different boxes and structures shapes a segment of the city's whole spectrum. Maybe at some point, the livelihood and "accidental" that weren't carefully designed could be challenging to some the existing authorities, but the power and possibility embodied in this system is hard to ignore. Just like anybody who has discovered when walking through this Nanto Urban Village, the modesty and vitality that are lacking in the delicate planned urban blocks.
