OF URBANISM\ARCHITECTURE IN THE WORLD
Leviathan

This is a fable about globalization. It is about a city that consists of beached OEM ships, the debris of Leviathan.

This Leviathan is the perfect solution to the world's economy and the way of living in the era of globalization. By overlapping labor time with shipping time, it was able to maximize their productivities, and thus its profits. Just like the container technology revolutionarily stimulated the processes of standardization in every dimension of urban space, through the price mechanism, the free market transforms differences in quality into differences in quantity.

Taking the ships as a spatial metaphor, the project describes a utopia under the context of globalization. This utopia is the projection of the self-alienated reality and the faith of high modernism. And Shenzhen is the biggest miracle of this projection.
